Jodie Mayfield

APRN | CNM

Jodie is the founder and owner of Lawrence Birth and Wellness. She has worked in many maternity settings over the last 20 years. She’s originally from the UK where she started her midwifery career and has been in the US since 2013. Whilst continuing her midwifery career in the US she qualified with a master’s degree from Philadelphia University in 2017 and has experience in high risk and low risk birth settings. She enjoys caring for women having physiological birth and offering women all options of care during childbirth.

She is passionate regarding women’s rights and feels that women do not get enough options, support or education during pregnancy or birth. She is opening Lawrence birth and wellness to provide this and will be additional to the already established birth centers that we have here in Kansas. She is very excited to be opening the center, and starting a new chapter in her life, she looks forward to serving you. She has 2 teenage kids and Brian, her husband, is a native Kansan and they currently reside in Topeka.

Teren Williams is a highly accomplished and well-travelled individual. Having graduated third in her class at Sul Ross University in Alpine, TX as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 2011, she worked for some years as an LVN. In 2014 she was asked to join a biomedical research project in Tanzania, Africa where she learned the importance of natural birth, and grew a passion for helping women through birth. Other ventures have led her to have experience as a business owner of a successful hotel in Terlingua/Big Bend area of Texas. She made the leap to Kansas in early 2023 to join Immanuel Birth Co. Topeka, and work alongside Midwives as a birth assistant. When the opportunity came to help Lawrence Birth and Wellness as an office manager, she leaped at the opportunity. It means a lot to her to be part of a team that welcomes babies into the world in a safe and beautiful environment. You will find her waiting at the front desk to help you or even in the birth room!
